Labor Day Weekend Wedding #1

I had the pleasure of photographing my mother-in-law's wedding ceremony the Saturday prior to Labor Day.  It was a small, intimate ceremony (which was a stark difference to the wedding I shot last night!).  Both were great fun in their own different ways.  Here are some sample photos from Saturday's.

More Changes

Lots of changes this past weekend.  First, I've done some site design changes to both portfolio and blog sites.  Still in process.  I spent a day this weekend breaking into an abandoned burnt-out building in Portland and photographing parts of it.  Some of the photos from that shoot are below.  All in all, a pretty good weekend.  Next weekend:  two back-to-back weddings!  No rest for the weary, but hey, I'm not complaining!

Biggest Eyes Ever!

A couple of weeks ago, my wife's classmate from grad school came by and hung out.  Her son had just turned 1 and had the biggest eyes on a baby/toddler I'd ever seen!  Don't believe me?  Check out the photos.

Paradigm Shift

I went out to check out the site of where the wedding ceremony I'm shooting next weekend is going to be.  Located in BZ Corners, it's a little out-of-the-way town that's nestled in green valley filled with trees.  Lots of trees, though there are many signs of clear cutting all over the place despite all the trees that are not cut down.  It's taking place at a private residence and will be held outside in the yard.  Yeah, my wedding was outside, and yeah, it was technically the backyard, but a lot of planning went into it to make it work.  This is a wedding ceremony that I have not yet experienced, but I'm fairly positive it'll still work out.  The smallest wedding yet, the party consists of the bride and groom, one attendant each, and two ring bearers.  No real outline of when different events are going to happen... I have to remain fluid.  The yard where the ceremony will be is well-manicured, and won't pose a record keeping challenge, but I found myself lacking in the creativity department when I was looking at the surroundings.         I'm spending some time this week looking for "close-to-home" inspirational photos and tips because it doesn't get any closer to home than this.
